Pasta has won over Indian consumers…

Pasta has gained popularity among young and old alike in India. Housewives find that it is easy to rustle up a pasta meal. Youngsters consider pasta to be a trendy meal. For the health-conscious, pasta made of whole-wheat is also available. 

Pasta is made from durum wheat flour or durum wheat semolina. This is mixed with water and if required other flours, eggs etc are added. This mix is formed into various shapes which are listed in Resources below.

A range of sauces compliment pasta…

Pasta is cooked by boiling and then is served with sauces like Pesto, Alfredo and Bolognese. It is the sauce is the one that makes eating pasta such a tasty experience. Popular pasta and sauce pairings include Spaghetti – Bolognese, Fettuccine – Pesto, Penne – Arrabbiata and Tagliatelle – Bolognese.

Created by grinding crushed garlic, basil, pine nuts and cheese. Served with Fettuccine or Trenette pasta.

Made from tomatoes, basil, onion, carrot, garlic, red pepper, heavy cream, salt and sugar. Delicious with Spaghetti and Ravioli.
