Your Photo on a Postal Stamp

Photo of yourself or your loved ones on a postage stamp!

What can be more exciting than having your photo or a photo of a family member on an Indian postage stamp?  Or how about gifting to a close friend stamps with his or her likeness featured thereon? All this is possible now, thanks to a new initiative of India Post.

The photo is printed alongside a regular commemorative stamp of India. You can select form a wide choice of such stamps, such as flowers, zodiac signs, folk art, historical buildings etc.

How do you go about availing this “My Stamp” scheme?

Simply visit the main post office in your city, submit the photograph, select the stamp alongside which the photo is to be printed and pay an amount of Rs 300 for 12 stamps. If you do not have a ready photograph, some of the post offices will click the photo on the spot. Discount is available for bulk orders.

In a few days, you need to visit the post office again to collect the ordered stamps. Thereafter, go ahead and mail letters or greeting cards to your friends and relatives with the stamp affixed.

Companies may also avail this scheme to get their logo or message printed in place of the photograph.
