In India fruit and vegetable carvings are displayed in many wedding halls at the start of buffet area. It is believed that a visual display of food triggers taste-buds and helps guests to better relish their food.

To turn any vegetable or fruit into a stunning piece of art, all that one needs is creative ability, a little inspiration as well as knowledge on various kinds of fruits and vegetables. The kind of carvings one can do is only limited by imagination. In India we have the advantage of getting a wide variety of tropical fruits and vegetables in vibrant colours and unique forms which can be shaped into objects like for instance beetroot into roses, onions into flowers, pumpkins into faces and so on!
