Toy libraries are a rage with children as well as parents!
Toys are tools for mental, emotional and social development of children. Borrowing toys from toy libraries is gaining popularity with children as well as their parents because a very wide range of toys are stocked by the libraries. Parents too do not have to invest on an expensive toy, since there is every likelihood that the child is bored with that toy after a few days. Parents are also deterred from buying larger number of toys due to rising toy prices as well as lack of storage space in flats.
The toy libraries stock a wide range of toys such as alphabetical toys, creative toys, wooden blocks, playing games etc of reputed brands like Fisher Price, Vtech, Okplay, Funskool, Baby Einstein, Playschool etc. By sanitizing each toy prior to it's re-issue, the toy rental companies have assuaged the concern of parents for hygienic toys.
Rent toys from an online toy library or from a physical outlet...
To borrow toys from an online toy library, one has to register with their website with the contact details, address etc. Nominal one time registration charges are applicable.
The entire range of toys stocked are shown on the website through pictures and description and are categorized as per age group. Membership plans are based on total duration of plan (1 month, 3 months, 6 months etc) and number of toys to be borrowed at one time (1 toy, 2 toys etc).
Toys are rotated once every 15 days, so that a kid opting for 2 toys at a time plan gets to enjoy 4 toys in a month. Toys are delivered and collected from the kid’s residence by the toy library, free of cost.
At physical toy libraries, the toys can be actually seen and selected by children. From physical libraries toys may have to be collected and returned by the borrowers. They too have membership plans similar to online toy libraries. Online and physical toy libraries are listed in Resources.
